club_cafe: Audit Question
Marty,

[>] I don't understand why the Transaction Ledger won't produce what you want.  The Transactions Ledger will contain all accounts and all the transactions for the year. These transactions will print in one print job whether it is a normal or PDF printer regardless of how many pages are required.

This may be correct---this is my first time doing an audit, so I am following the directions on the Audit form that I downloaded from the bivio sight
Printing the "Transactions" from the Accounts page as  you are trying will list every transaction from your day one, and probably will be several pages each that cannot be printed in one print job. Secondly, if you have more than one account, such as a Bank and a Broker, the transactions for each will be in a different set, again requiring more than one print job.

You are completely correct, this is several pages long b/c it does list every transaction. As I said above, I'm not really sure why I need this, but its listed on the Audit form as one of the reports I need to do an audit, my strategy was/is to gather all paperwork first, so I was trying to follow the directions precisely.

Perhaps this particular report is not needed? As I said, its my first time doing an audit, so at this point I'm just trying to follow this instructions!
If my explanation is not clear or if I am misunderstanding the issue,  you may want to contact bivio through their support page at support@bivio.com

Thanks so much for emailing me and trying to help! This audit stuff is really challenging!

Thanks for the tip about PDF's--I'm on it!
Second--I actually already have a transaction Ledger Report for 2009. What I am trying to download is listed on the Bivio Club Audit Form and Instructions as:
"Transaction Lists (from Accounting>Accounts>transactions) - 1/1/2009-12/31/2009: Dates and Amounts in chronological Order"
Its listed on the third page of the audit instructions, under 'Club Records'. Its the third report from the bottom

Ellen,

First question,
You can download a free PDF printer at http://www.cutepdf.com/ .  A virtual printer will be installed in your printer files.  When you want to print any document in PDF format, select this printer instead of the your normal printer.  It may take a few seconds, (30 or less) and then bring up a saving screen where you can name it  and place it in any file you wish.

2nd question, you can generate a transaction ledger report for any year in the reports area on bivio.  Do File/Print/CutePDFprinter, name it and save it.

Is there a way to generate a PDF, word, or excel doc with only the 2009 dates?

Thanks,

Hi Ellen,

I’m glad to hear you are trying to do an audit for your club.

I’ll be glad to call you sometime tomorrow.  Just email support@bivio.com and let me

know your phone number and 2 or 3 times when you might be available for a phone call.

It doesn't give a running balance and mixes transactions for all accounts together.

A running balance and having transactions for separate accounts separated makes it easier to reconcile with the bank/broker statements (especially for those who don't reconcile every month).

Hi Ellen,

I would suggest you wait to print out the account transaction list unless you need it. It was just listed as a possible report that you might

need to reference.

For future reference, if you would like to print it there are two things you might find useful to use to do so.

First, at the bottom of the account transactions list page you can change the number of transactions which are displayed on a single web page. You can increase the number to

as many as 500. The page will load more slowly if you do this but you won’t have to page through them.

Once you’ve done this, you can open the data in a spreadsheet if you’d like. You’ll see a spreadsheet button at the top of the list that you can use to do so. This makes it very easy to manipulate and print.

Hi Phyllis,

Here is a link to a recording of one of the sessions.

It is unedited, so it is a bit rough but at least you (and whomever else is interested)
