We have a cash sweep to a money market account, that occasionally shows a dividend. When our 1099 from the broker arrived, it showed a "service fee" for the money market account on January 1. It states that this is a service fee charged for the overnight sweep and was deducted from the earned gross dividends. It is reportable as income but may be deductible. This is the first that we see of this. How to we allocate or account for this hidden income. As I understand it, they say it was earned in the previous months but never reported, and the net amount is magically declared at the end of the year. Is this legal? Is it possible to de-compile the aggregate amount back to the months in which it was "earned" and charged? It is less than a dollar, so I just ignored it last year. I'm was just disconnected from a webinar and cant get re-coonected?? Can someone at Bivio help me? On Jan 31, 2010, at 12:02 PM, James Selkirk wrote:
I participated in the audit webinar question a few moments ago, but I kept getting disconnected and so I missed most of it. I have a PDF of the Audit Form, but would love a copy of the slide show. Is that available on club_cafe, and if so, what is the name of the file? Hi Ellen,
I’m sorry you had problems with your audio during the webinar. If you’d like to participate in the future you might contact Citrix support at 1-800-263-6317 They are very helpful and available 24/7. I will be posting the presentation in a PDF format in the next couple of days. I will post a message here when I have done so. Laurie Frederiksen
Excellent webinar Laurie. First year for our club and I thank you for the easy to understand answers! Michael Healy B&H Investments Where is the audit webinar posted? I was unable to logon and need to review it--can't find it. Thanks, Phyllis Market Mavens Investment Club Hi Phyllis, You can find the audit form and instructions posted at www.bivio.com/club_cafe Laurie Frederiksen Thanks Laurie but I want the webinar itself. Did you record it for posting on the website? I have the form but was unable to login to the webinar for an unknown reason after many tries, however, I was successful with the tax webinar. Phyllis I'm downloading reports from Bivio so I can perform an audit on our records. The majority of out reports are only one page on length, so I have been taking a screen shot and then converting that to a PDF for our records, however, the transaction list is three pages long--so I would need to take three separate screen shots and have three separate PDF's, also, its including transactions in 2010 and I cant see how to generate a list with only 2009 transactions. Is there a way to generate a PDF, word, or excel doc with only the 2009 dates? Thanks, Ellen End Game Investments Take a look at either of these PDF printer drivers, CutePDF or PrimoPDF. They will allow you to direct your printed output to a PDF file. Is there a way to generate a PDF, word, or excel doc with only the 2009 dates? Thanks, Ellen End Game Investments Ellen,
First question, You can download a free PDF printer at http://www.cutepdf.com/ . A virtual printer will be installed in your printer files. When you want to print any document in PDF format, select this printer instead of the your normal printer. It may take a few seconds, (30 or less) and then bring up a saving screen where you can name it and place it in any file you wish.
2nd question, you can generate a transaction ledger report for any year in the reports area on bivio. Do File/Print/CutePDFprinter, name it and save it.

What I am trying to download is listed on the Bivio Club Audit Form and Instructions as: "Transaction Lists (from Accounting>Accounts>transactions) - 1/1/2009-12/31/2009: Dates and Amounts in chronological Order" Its listed on the third page of the audit instructions, under 'Club Records'. Our club began in July of 2009, and I'm hoping part of my confusion is that we may not have had enough activity to generate some of the numbers the audit is asking for. Essentially, though I think I have all the correct reports generated, I cannot figure out what numbers to compare to what. Is it possible to arrange a phonecall with someone to go over this with me? [>] I don’t understand why the Transaction Ledger won’t produce what you want. The Transactions Ledger will contain all accounts and all the transactions for the year. These transactions will print in one print job whether it is a normal or PDF printer regardless of how many pages are required.
Printing the “Transactions” from the Accounts page as you are trying will list every transaction from your day one, and probably will be several pages each that cannot be printed in one print job. Secondly, if you have more than one account, such as a Bank and a Broker, the transactions for each will be in a different set, again requiring more than one print job.
If my explanation is not clear or if I am misunderstanding the issue, you may want to contact bivio through their support page at support@bivio.com.
