Hi Everyone,
Here's a fun holiday topic. I need to get a grab bag gift for a club holiday party. Something priced at no more than $15.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

A great little gift for women, or for the hostess if you are invited to a holiday dinner party -
Walmart has 16oz. clear plastic tumblers with red, green and white snowflakes ($1.97 ea)
They also have Christmas dish towels, I got the green ones with a single raised-stitch xmas tree ($.98 ea)
I rolled up the towel, stuck it in the tumbler and stuck two large candy canes in the middle of the towel. ($.50 ea) Very cute gift for less than $4.00 each. It's the thought that counts.
Trader Joe's fans: A bottle of Charles Shaw Merlot or Cab (lovingly referred to as "Two Buck Chuck") in a pretty wine sack is also a nice gift for under $10.
I was just in Pier One today. They had a wide array of blown glass wine toppers for $8.95, along with Christmas and Hannukah themed small serving pieces, like a decorative dish with matching serving knife for under $15.
And don't forget to stop by Barnes & Noble, if you have one. They often have money-themed gifts, like bookmarks, small phone directories, or notebooks. Most are under $10.
I recommend that you stay away from fragrances. Women are picky about the scent of lotions, candles and fusers. How about a nice jar of holiday chutney from the gourmet section of your grocery store, instead?
That's it from me! Happy holidays!

Thanks Lynn.
Great ideas!
Two Buck Chuck is a favorite of one of my club members and I always like an excuse to go into Pier 1.

Only problem is that inflation has hit and Two Buck Chuck is now Four Buck Chuck. Try the Four Buck La Finca Malbec at Trader Joe's it is wonderful!

I'm glad I asked this question. I'm getting a lot of good ideas.
We don't have a Trader Joe's where I live. But we do have a lot of great local vineyards. I'll have to admit, I'm kind of biased toward supporting them.
And all of the other great local farmers.

For those of us in Northern California, the major wines, including Two Buck Chuck, are from "local farmers." Guess I'm spoiled! ;-)

Now there's a plan. Reading about financial reporting is always more enjoyable if there's a little wine involved. :)

I don't know Roy. In Northern Michigan we have what you have without the traffic. In fact, we were even voted the most beautiful place in America by Good Morning America last year.
Somehow I have the feeling your "local farmers" are probably bigger operations than the ones I was thinking about.

This may sound wacky, but one year I bought everyone harmonicas. They have inexpensive ones at Discovery Chanel stores and most toy stores for under $10. It was unreal what a hit this gift was, and it's really age proof--kids, adults teenagers! Everyone loves a shiny harmonica!

Traffic? That's SoCal. Up here, we just have morning and afternoon opportunities to stop and take in the great views. ;-)
There are some large vineyards over in Napa and Sonoma, but many of the wineries around here buy from small vineyards. While I do indulge on occasion, rarely touch the stuff, my fave is more blue collar: Down the road apiece is the Anchor Brewery, which makes my favorite brew: Anchor Steam. And, I look forward each year to their Christmas Ale (the recipe changes every year). Can't beat it! I get to enjoy them without shoveling snow, so I feel truly blessed.

To go with your rose-colored glasses, I guess a yo-yo would also be under $15 and could be called a Stock Market simulator! <g>

This sounds like the perfect gift to go along with the Rose Colored glasses someone suggested would be an appropriate gift for an investor!
If the stock market gets too crazy we can all at least make music while Wall Street burns.
