Feasts
I woke up recently in the middle of a feast.

There is a large fir tree right outside my bedroom window that probably should be trimmed back. Though I hadn't noticed it before, it is covered in tiny pinecones. On that day, they had been discovered by hundreds of chickadees. The tiny birds were going about their lives outside in the cold by feasting on the bounty this tree had provided them.

It was a Thanksgiving feast for me to be able to join them as an observer.

Life hands us things to be grateful for every day.

Here's a quote I found compelling from a recent kindle book (Everyone Believes It; Most Will Be Wrong; Motley Thoughts on Investing and The Economy) written by Morgan Housel, a Motley Fool blog writer:

"Here's what we do know. In the field of positive psychology, the study of what motivates people and makes us happy, researchers are mostly in agreement: Money isn't the key to happiness. What really gives people meaning and happiness is a combination of four things: Control over what they're doing, progress in what they're pursuing, being connected with others, and being part of something they enjoy that's bigger than themselves"

To me, that's a perfect description of what you add to your life when you're a member of an investment club.

Thanksgiving is a day for expressing gratitude, and all of us at bivio would like to express our gratitude for being able to share the world of investing with you and your clubs.

We hope you enjoy your feasts. We all have lots of things to be grateful for. However you celebrate Thanksgiving, if you have people to share it with, you're a wealthy person.
