Party Lines and How To Unsubscribe from the Club Cafe List
Hi Everyone,

We have had quite a few people join this list recently and it appears as though there may be a little bit of misunderstanding on what they are subscribing to and how it works. I thought I'd try and clarify because an email group is not necessarily intuitively obvious if you haven't really used them before.

An email group is kind of like an old fashioned telephone party line. If you're on the line (in the group), you can listen in and participate in all the conversations that are going on. This creates kind of an online "water cooler" where those of us interested in clubs can talk together about items of interest to us.

Members of an email group don't get together physically to talk. They email the group and everyone receives their email messages. Anyone can respond to what they bring up and everyone also receives the responses. You can join in the conversation or just listen and learn. You can even delete the messages if you're not interested in what is going on without hurting anyones feelings.

If the group is active, you will receive a lot of emails. If that bothers you, all email programs allow you to set up rules or filters which automatically move messages from specific addresses to a separate folder where you can deal with them when you'd like. All Club Cafe messages have the words club_cafe in the subject line. You just have to set up your filter to move all messages containing that string to a separate folder.

We hope you will continue to be a member of this group. It is our front line communications method for bivio. If something is going on, you will hear it here first. You an also learn a lot as other club members raise their club issues and the community provides responses.

If you decide you'd rather not be part of the group, please do not burden everyone by sending unsubscribe messages to the list. Login to bivio and remove yourself by copying and pasting this link in your browser http://www.bivio.com/club_cafe/leave-club-cafe

Or, email us at support@bivio.com and we'll remove you.

If you'd just like to follow our activities without receiving as many emails, we try and post regular links to highlights of goings on on the club cafe list on Facebook and Twitter also.

Hope you all have a great day. Sorry if belonging to this list has created confusion for any of you. We look forward to sharing future discussions with all who stay and participate.

Laurie,

Can the unsubscribe link be automatically added to the bottom of e-mail sent
out by the mailing list software? It seem like every couple of weeks
lately, you've had to send out a 'how to unsubscribe' e-mail.

How about adding the link to the club cafe page also?  I tried to find it there.

Hi Rich,

Good idea. I have already asked our programmers if we can do just that. Hopefully, it will be available soon as some upgrades are made.

Thanks for the input, it always helps to backup my requests to them when you guys ask for the same things I do. We like to know your needs, wants and wishes as it helps to prioritize development work.

Keep those cards and letters coming!
