Addresses for Club
Thanks everyone for your great support and tips. I really
appreciate all the help.

One last question - do any of your clubs use a PO Box for
the club address? Or do you simply use the treasurer or
president's home address? It seems like the PO Box makes
things a little easier when there is movement within the
officers of the club but it also seems like an additional
expense that doesn't need to be there.

Just curious what everyone does.

Thanks,

Andy
Yes, Andy. A PO box would be an extra unnecessary expense, in most circumstances. I think most clubs use the club founder's home address. Founders tend to stay in the club for a long time. Even if the individual receiving the mail isn't an officer, they can still collect and deliver it at the meeting.
I'm not sure, but I don't think a PO box is allowable on most of your forms - Assumed Name Certificate, Federal tax ID form, Bank Application, etc.

We use a PO box because we have had problems in the past with changes of address. Several officers have access to the box. We do most contacts on line, but it is important to have a "permanent" address in case of emergency, illness, or death of a responsible member. It is a small cost to pay in view of our total portfolio. Bivio takes care of the deduction.
