Club Names
The name of the club whose portfolio is being used as our demo portfolio tonight is Cents and Sensibility.

Don't you find club names like this compelling? They make me want to start a conversation with the members because I am sure to find out something interesting.

Anybody got a good story you'd like to share about how you came up with your club name?

My club's name is Cash22. I'll share the story if you'll share yours!

My club name is ABODI Investment club.  Acronym for A Bunch Of Dummies Investing.  Beyond 401ks, none of our charter members have had any previous trading experience.  I think that we are doing a good job with our AIRR on Investments (excludes cash) =  43.1%.

Our club is named the Alchemy.  We are a group of seven members hoping to make money out of nothing .

Aren't we all. Great name!

Here's one wikipedia definition of Alchemy. "Alchemy is the science of understanding, deconstructing, and reconstructing matter" Great analogy for studying stocks and putting together a portfolio.

If you do have success creating gold, please be sure to share your wisdom with the rest of us!

Yes, especially when we bought Marvel a few months before Disney announced the deal and buying Netflix at $50.

We use the Motley Fool's Stock Advisor.  They give you two stocks a month that they recommend.

We are a group of women who grew up, vacation, or live in a rural area of West central Minnesota.

Our club is named "Diamonds in the Rough".  We call ourselves the "Gems".  The "Rough" refers to the area we are from but also to our inexperience with investing.  We formed our club just before the economic fall so our initial investments dropped drastically.  We are now recovering nicely but have a way to go to really make money and be "Diamonds".  We are having a great time learning.

My club’s name is:  Women With Cents.  Sort of in line with the Cents and Sensibility…we were looking at names with “Sense” in it and my husband suggested we spell it “Cents.”
