Happy Fourth of July!
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal......"

One of my favorite TV episodes is the scene from the 2008 miniseries "John Adams", where the continental congress approves the Declaration of Independence. The series is so realistic that the power of what this group did really comes through. Though disjointed and of differing backgrounds and experiences and ideas, they managed to come together to take on one of the greatest empires in the world.

They didn't sit back and complain, they got together and tried to make a change.

The power of what they accomplished is overwhelming and the reason we celebrate today.

As individual investors, we represent an important demographic. If we can speak collectively, we have an opportunity to fix things in the "system" that are cumbersome or have unintended negative consequences for us. As members of investment clubs and this community, you are taking proactive steps to be actively engaged as individual investors. On this day where we celebrate independence, we salute you and all who have come before you that don't sit back and complain and feel overwhelmed and instead take active steps to take advantage of the opportunities presented to you to participate.

Happy Fourth of July!
