At
the meeting last night of a new model club I am a part of, we began an interesting
discussion of setting goals for ourselves. It was rightly pointed out
that it will probably help our group decision making process if we establish
a framework within which to make our decisions.
We
would still like to establish some parameters which we will use to make
purchase and sale decisions. It will probably end up being portfolio
parameters such as how large a percentage we want to allow in any one
stock, what Portfolio projected return we are trying to achieve,
what quality level we want to keep our portfolio at, how type of
diversification (by growth rate and sector) are we trying to achieve.
If
any of you have goals or guidelines like these that you use to operate your
clubs we would be interested to hear them. We would also
like to hear whether there are any other parameters you use to guide your
decision making.
