When I backup/export my Bivio data there are two options
available under Tools:
- Compressed XML Zipped file
- Plain XML

When I select Plain, I get this message in addition to the
data

"This XML file does not appear to have any style information
associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

Is this normal or an error situation?

That's normal for some web browsers. Once you see that page
you will still need to save the page to your computer
(Select "Save As..." from the "File" menu in your web
browser and save it somewhere on your computer where you can
find it again).
