Stock Sale

We sold a stock on 12/31/2009. The broker shows that as the
sale date. But the settlement date was not until 1/6/2010.
On which year should I (or hopefully Bivio) show the short
term capital loss?

The sale date is the important date, not the settlement date. bivio will handle it correctly.
