Unassigned credit
I deposited a $500 check to Scottrade to buy 13 shares of
Stryker. Account transactions show the $500 as "unassigned
credit." Investment transactions show the $617 (cost of
Stryker) in parantheses. The account balances show the
brokerage account balance as still including the $500. Upon
calling Scottrade, all of their records seem to be correct.
Why do I have the "unassigned credit"?
Hi Ruth,

Your account shows the $500 transferred from the bank to Scottrade. That entry came from your transfer entry. AccountSync, in picking up all the Scottrade entries, also found that the $500 had been entered into your account, so it picked up that entry as an 'unassigned credit'. All you need to do is to delete that 'unassigned credit', and everything should  balance.

In the future, specific questions as to your account entries might be better directed to support@bivio.com.

Because AccountSync doesn't know what the $500 represents. If it's a cash transfer from another account, you have to edit the transaction to completely identify it.

The same thing happened when I transferred funds from our credit union checking to Ameritrade cash account for a future stock purchase. As soon as I identified the source account, everything automatically balanced. Bivio is really great!
