Editing member contribution for 2008
Help! One day I know this is going to run smoother, but I
am in a bind with each member's contribution. I realized
too late that I probably should have done the penny method,
but I now need to correct some mistakes made last year.

Our fees or dues is $50 per month. Some members paid $150
sometimes (or other amounts) paying for members who could
not attend. Those members would pay back the money to the
one putting in for them. I made the deposits to Scottrade
and bivio picked it up from there.

Now, if Joe paid $150 in August, he is credited with $150
for that month and Jim and Sarah have nothing. How can I
edit this? I've tried various ways and read through the
help section, but have not found it yet and thought perhaps
someone out there could make this easier for me for when I
try to get members their K-1s (another nightmare I am not
looking forward to!)

Just to add to the woes, we have one member quitting. He
sent me his letter and it is effective this month. Still
working through that, but I think we are getting closer to a
resolution. Am I making this a lot harder than it needs to
be?

Thanks in advance,

Johnny
Johnny:

To correct the posting of $150 member payment credited to
"Joe" instead of $50 each to Joe, Jim and Sarah on the same
date, perform the following steps.

Navigate in bivio to Administrative, overview, accounts,

On the Accounts page you should see your brokerage account
name and suspense, maybe others if you created them.

To right of brokerage name there are two active links “info”
and “transactions”. Click on “Transactions” to see a list
of transactions in reverse chronological order. Scroll down
to the member payment that that you want to change (in your
example—August to Joe.)

On the right side of the entry there is a link called
“edit”, which you should click.

On the next screen, leave the dates of transaction and date
of valuation alone. Change the amount attributed to “Joe”
from $150 to $50 and insert $50 next to Jim and $50 next to
Sarah. The total at the bottom of the page should remain at
the same amount $150. When done, click “OK”.

Repeat the process for each transaction that needs to be
changed. As long as you make these changes for 2008
transactions before you prepare your K1s and withdrawals, it
will be as if you made the correct entries originally.
