Correcting old errors Since starting the Bivio accounting (>2 yrs) the bank account has shown an excess of $19.24 in the account (i.e. the actual account is less than what is shown on Bivio). Despite several auditing sessions the club is not able to determine where this money was either double entered or not deposited. In any event we would like to correct this so that the bivio accounting matches our bank statement. How can I correct this? However, if your club cannot find the reason for the discrepancy, send a message to support@bivio.com with the details on what to correct. We can make an adjustment to your account. Dave Swierenga bivio Support Hi all, I agree with Dave. There is always a reason accounts don't balance. However, sometimes finding that reason is almost impossible due to lack of good record keeping or cooperation by the members. It may be that the discrepancy is so old that the records have been "lost". This is the reason that an audit performed by club members other than the treasurer each year is critical. I believe the best time for the audit is after year end and before taxes are done (February?) so that any discrepancies can be found and corrected prior to taxes being prepared. Robert, I suggest that you ask that someone from the chapter help you locate the problem. I am the NM Chapter Treasurer help desk and have assisted more than one club work its way out of a knot. If you only have to go back two years then it shouldn't be too hard to find the problem. It just takes time, patience and persistence.
