Steps to shut down and end a club
It looks like our club has run its course and the members
want to dissolve it. Are there any instructions or steps
that I should take as treasurer to end it? Also, can we use
the current bivio tax system to file a final return so that
we do not have to do it in 2009?
Thanks,
Dave

Sorry to hear about your club disbanding.

Sell all your stocks. If there are any outstanding dividends, etc.,
wait until they hit your account. Execute full withdrawals for
everybody. You can leave them "online" in the club so they can access
their K1s.

Yes, BUT be very sure you wait until all income is in and all
withdrawals are cashed. You don't have to pay anything else to us as
long as you have a valid subscription. Tax returns are always free at
bivio, no mattter what time of year you complete them.

Rob
What is a valid subscription? We are a club who is also
dissolving and our subscription to Bivio runs out on Monday,
May5. We are NOT renewing it. Can we still access our
account online and can we access the 08 K1 and 1065 forms
via Bivio?

We did our full member withdrawals and printed what are
supposed to be the 08 taxes, but they all are labeled with
2007. Suggestions?

This can be found under Administration > Subscription. It tells you
the end date. You will be notified by email and on the website when
your subscription passes this end date. At this point, you no longer
have a valid subscription.

If you need to do a partial return for 2008, just do it today.

This is correct. Partial year returns always use the prior year's tax
forms.
