Pennsylvania capital gains
I just used the PA partnership tax generator to create our
club's PA tax return. All of the capital gains from the sale
of stock appears as "Outside PA" revenue and is not included
as taxable gains on the members K1's. Can this be correct?
In the past I always treated capital gains as taxable.

We have always paid taxes on our capital gains. I used the Bivio tax forms
and they prepared everything. I just signed the form. It was the easiest I
have ever had to work with! I am only a third year treasurer so I do not
know everything by a long shot.

On your PA 20S/PA-65 do you have capital gains on Line 5? If
so, is it on line 5a or 5b? I used BIVIO for Fed and then
PA and my dividends ended up on line 5a which is "Outside
PA" revenue and does not carry onto the K1's

Your PA form is not familiar to me. We do not pay state taxes in FL. I do
not have a 5a or 5b on my forms for fed. I wish I knew more!

I am a new treasurer of a PA club iiiat. We have some NJ
members. The PA instructions say to pay any taxes due for
out of state members to PA (like a withholding) on a
separate form mailed in advance of the return. Fortunately
it allows you to take the lower of 2 years which was zero. I
filed the form. Also note I believe PA does not recognize
loss carryforwards.
