$.05 discrepancy

$.05 discrepancy Last month we were 1 penny off; this month we are 5 cents off from bivio to brokerage statement. I went to yahoo and checked historical closing adjusted prices for valuation date. We used the TDAmeritrade transaction page for valuation date 2/08/08, same date as bivio valuation date. No buys or sells this month. All the dividends and penny method member deposits matched. What's wrong and do we fix penny differences each month, end of year, or what? thanks, Etana Etana, if your cash agrees, and your shares of stocks including fractional dividends agree, don't worry about a few cents difference in market value at any given time. After all, the next morning, those prices will all change anyhow, and a few pennies don't matter. Hey Etana, It's the difference in the number of decimal points each company uses. It's not a big deal. Our club has been off by pennies for 6 years. Never more than $.05-$.06 at most. If it really bugs you, just force an adjustment. Personally, I wouldn't bother. Lynn O. This is another reason I hate DRIPs. I know that mergers/acquisitions can cause the same thing, but DRIPs make this so much more likely. We have a few pretty pciky folks in our club and these $0.05 errors would drive them nuts :-) Jeff --- Jeff Williams Distinguished Engineer Email: jeff_williams@Xiotech.com Office: 952 983 2445 Mobile: 507 259 1795 Fax: 952 983 2320 Xiotech Corporation 6455 Flying Cloud Drive Eden Prairie, MN 55344 United States www.xiotech.com : www.xiotech.com/demo : Toll-Free 866 472 6764 -----Original Message----- From: club_cafe@bivio.com [mailto:club_cafe@bivio.com] On Behalf Of Lynn Ostrem Sent: Saturday, February 09, 2008 9:19 PM To: The Club Cafe Subject: Re: club_cafe: $.05 discrepancy > Last month we were 1 penny off; this month we are 5 cents off from > bivio to brokerage statement. Does that change what you all are saying? thanks, Etana Gene Rooks wrote: > Etana, if your cash agrees, and your shares of stocks including fractional > dividends agree, don't worry about a few cents difference in market value at > any given time. We see in one place where TDAmeritrade credited us 30.00 for a check that was 30.06... later etana Etana Finkler wrote: > Gene, Lynn, Ira, > The 5 cent discrepancy is in our cash money market balance. > Does that change what you all are saying? > > |
