club_cafe: Tax Allocations to members It happens on 12/31. Compare the tax basis for each member on 12/30 with

Under our old "club accounting", it would distrbute the gains/losses in units and alter the unit value as well as altering the tax basis. Bivio doesn,t seem to alter the units or value. Do you see any imact of this difference? IraS1@aol.com wrote: > It happens on 12/31. If you look at the Transaction Ledger report (not Transaction History) you can see all basis adjustments in the "Member" column. (Note that although that report shows some basis adjustments related to withdrawals dated Dec 31st, withdrawal basis adjustments are actually all applied on the withdrawal date. I've got a question into bivio support about this seeming inconsistency.) > Under our old "club accounting", it would distrbute > the gains/losses in units and alter the unit value as > well as altering the tax basis. Bivio doesn,t seem to > alter the units or value. That other club accounting software (from IClub) doesn't "distribute" units either when you disable the appropriate option. Ever since bivio has existed, the recommendation has been to allocate gains/losses but *not* to also distribute them as units and so bivio doesn't aother with it. -Jim Thomas |
