Accounts We wanted to delete our petty cash account (El Dorado Savings) and when all the transactions were deleted and also the account name, it increased our other account (Scottrade) by a couple of thousand dollars. No where on this account is there any of the petty cash added in that can be seen. What happened and how to fix. Tomorrow is 12/31/2007 and this is a big problem. Help Please do not worry about today being 12/31. Accounting can be reconciled any time. Transactions can be fixed. And so on. The IRS doesn't come knocking people's doors on Jan 1. It's likely that when you deleted some transactions, they were transfers from one account to another. Your best bet is to email support@bivio.com and we'll be able to help you out. Treasurers: Please do not delete transactions unless they are truly errors. Rather, you should enter offsetting entries. IF EMAIL RESPONSE, PLEASE SEND TO > xxxx@xxxx.xxxx and copy me at xxxx@xxxx.xxx. bivio is entering a very busy time of year. Also, there's no need to panic. This is a rather routine problem. We can restore your books, if need be. You cannot file your tax return for another month. You first need to reconcile your books with the 1099s you'll receive at the end of Jan, at the earliest. A few tips for those of you who are not all that familiar with the Net: * Do not include your phone number in public emails * Do not include your email address or those of others * Do not write in all capital letters as it is very rude. I have taken your message offline as it might lead to an increase in spam in your mail boxes. Cheers, Rob |
