Account Sync
We have been using Bivio for several years and it has worked
well. I have the following questions after reading The One
Minute Treasurer and Bivio Guide. Will Bivio continue to be
available without Account Sync? With Account Sync can a club
elect to continue handling member payments as presently
without Account Sync? This is Raymond Gallaher, E-mail

Yes and yes. There is a bit of a terminology problem with
AccountSync. Briefly, bivio offer two services: AccountSync and
ActivePartnership. All bivio services include the broker import
feature, which is known as AccountSync.

With bivio, you have the choice of using the broker data import
feature or not. There are actually two ways to use the broker import
feature: manual and automatic. The manual import feature allows you
to download a Quicken file from your broker or bank, and import it
into bivio. It's called "Import OFX", and shows up for club officers
on the Accounting > Accounts > Broker page.

Even if you don't like the fully automatic import feature, you may
want to consider the Import OFX button. When you use Import OFX, you
eliminate transcription and other input errors, which are a major
source of errors in club books.

However, at bivio, we believe the choice is yours. All of our systems
allow manual entry, and we have no plans to take away any feature.

BTW, we don't have plans to raise prices. AccountSync will stay $99
for a long time to come, even after we add more state taxes and other
interesting features in the pipeline. Our goal is being the best and
lowest cost option for investment clubs and hedge funds.

Cheers,
Rob
