Reports Is there a way to generate a transaction ledger in chronological order for a specified period of time, other than a year, that is not broken down by cash account, investments, members, etc.? I like to pint of copy of each month's ledger and staple it to our broker statement. That makes comparing the transactions in order and the beginning and ending balances an easy task for our members at each meeting.. Thanks, Dorothy Hi, Dorothy! I feel badly that you have not received an answer to your question regarding the printing of reports. I am still a newbie with the bivio format and I don't feel qualified to answer your question. But, I have reminded the support team that your question still needs an answer. Hopefully, someone from the support will post an answer to your question soon. From my brief experience with bivio, I can honestly say that it is extremely unusual for the team to be so slow with their postings in The Club Cafe! Happy investing! The BI announcement has brought on a lot of interest from the "other" club accounting users, and that, combined with tax season, is probably causing tech support to be inundated with calls. Shame on the rest of us for not chiming in! If you go to Accounts|Reports and look under the annual report selections (the 2nd section), there's a Transaction Ledger report. Once you click on it, you can select whatever dates you wish to cover. Yes, it has some of the other stuff on it, but it's across the top, not in vertical sections. When I first started using bivio 6 years ago, I used to click on Accounts, then choose my broker or bank account and select transactions from there. I would click on the spreadsheet button and simply cut and paste the current information into a running spreadsheet that I kept as a back-up. That's pretty easy, too. HOWEVER, over the years, in an ongoing effort to rethink and revise our club operations, I realized that I didn't need to keep a duplicate transaction list to attach to my bank statements and broker statements. Today, we simply make sure the accounts are balanced every single month. If you check your statements, whether broker or bank, to make sure the share, investment value and cash balances match up, it's just not necessary to keep the extra stuff. This goes back to something we had to do with desktop accounting because we all used to experience computer issues! With online programming, we can trust that the server won't lose our stuff. Bivio has more than one back up for us. Most Club Accounting treasurers coming over from IClub are quickly finding that bivio's reports differ slightly. Probably the most annoying for me is the lack of IRR for each stock on the Valuation Statement. It's not the same program, but in the long run, you will find it's an awesome program! It's just a matter of playing with all the different reports and finding what works best for you. Maybe after tax season, we can entice Rip or Ira to conduct a Reports Class right here on the Club Cafe board! I'm sure we would all benefit! Dorothy, I know Rob is on vacation this week, and his crew is busy with tax stuff. I'm sure you'll be hearing from someone soon. In the meantime, keep asking questions here. We'll try to answer them from our perspective. Lynn Ostrem, VP & Education Chair garbagecop@earthlink.net Crow River Investment Club www.bivio.com/crowriver Dorothy C. You are much better off using the Accounting > Accounts > Broker page, because it only contains transactions relevant to a particular account. You can sort that by clicking on the date column heading. It has an up triangle by default, and when you click on it with the date, it will turn into a down triangle indicating chronological order.
