Using an Apple
I switched to Bivio last year and have been very satisfied
with e-mailing support for questions. I just found the Club
Cafe and wondered if there are any other members who are
accounting on-line using an Apple? I have had so much
trouble with the PC. However, the Naic accounting programs
were not compatible with the Apple. I am waiting for the PC
to be fixed to retriieve past data that is saved on a Zip
drive and/or disc. Now I want to be sure to back up my data
from Bivio.

Do I need desktop version to save to CD or is saving the
data to the hard drive sufficiient? I know I have been
living precariiously. Thanks for any info. Liz

Most of bivio's engineering staff uses Macs. We also make bivio.com
works with most browsers, even older ones. You should have no trouble
using a Mac with bivio.

You aren't the only one. :-( For those of you who haven't tried Macs,
bivio recommends them highly.

bivio's export format is platform independent, that is, it is
compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Linux, etc.

You don't need any special software to backup your bivio data. It
would be sufficient to just back it up to your hard drive. You won't
need to use the backups, however. You can learn more about bivio
exports at:

http://www.bivio.com/hp/exporting-club-data.html

Note that we at bivio make many copies of your data and store them
securely in multiple locations. In our 7+ years of operating bivio,
we haven't lost a single byte of customer data.

We do recommend you keep paper copies of important reports in three
locations. Paper is what the IRS wants to see if you get audited.

We also recommend you have at least three officers signed up to use
bivio. Many clubs think you can only have one officer.

Cheers,
Rob
Rob, Thank you so much for your response. Your format was
fabulous also. I was reluctant to ask more than one
question per e-mail. You certainly handled that logically
and orderly. Keep up the good work.

One more thing. About taxes. Have I missed something. Do
I have to purchase the tax program or sign up somehow? Liz

Thanks. :-) Your feedback greatly helps.

Taxes are included in every bivio subscription, including our free
trial. At bivio, there has only been one price to pay for
everything you need to run your club.

The forms will be ready in a couple of weeks. We'll announce here and
in a bulletin.
