What happened to the $69 basic subscription?
I had originally transferred an older database from CA2.5 on an .icd file
into bivio just on a testing basis. I am now trying to upload a current
.mdb file from CA3.1. I did not delete the old data, which may be my
problem, as I assumed it would just write over the older data. It has been
over ten minutes now, and the upload appears to have stalled. Any
suggestions on what I should do? Gene Rooks, Space Coast Chapter
Hi Jim et al,

We apologize for not sending out an announcement about this directly.
bivio is going to be going through some changes, and the eliminations
of Half Year and Club Accounting are just two of them. We will be
sending out a bulletin shortly explaining this and other changes.

We eliminated Half Year, because it was only there for disbanding
clubs. Now that bivio provides IRS returns "any time", there's no
reason for us to support this pricing.

After much thought and consideration, we decided that supporting Club
Accounting without AccountSync(tm) was simply too much work. Every
time we answer a question about how to enter a spin-off, split,
merger, DRP, etc., it costs us a lot of money.

AccountSync enters spin-offs, mergers, etc. automatically for every
customer who can link their brokerage. Once they set up member
payments, we don't get questions about mis-entered member payments.

At $99 per year for the whole club, AccountSync is still the cheapest
option for any club or fund to maintain their books and do their
taxes. AccountSync's automatic broker link is therefore "free" in
this context, and moreover, our competitors do not even offer this
feature.

As a part of this price change and other changes, you will be seeing
some significant changes to our service over the next few months. We
already have one broker link in the pipeline, and we'll be adding
more.

Our goal at bivio has always been to abolish Club Accounting as it has
been taught in classrooms around the U.S. for too many years. By
eliminating manual Club Accounting on our site, we are taking an
audacious step towards that goal.

The One Minute Treasurer(tm) discount is in the pipeline, too. The
One Minute Treasurer is a concept right now that people can
implement. Just follow our recommendations:

http://www.bivio.com/club_cafe/files/TheOneMinuteTreasurer.pdf

This will save the vast majority of time you are spending on Club
Accounting. We will implement the concept in software to help guide
clubs, and give them a discount at the same time.

bivio is about saving time and money!

Please email support@bivio.com for an answer.

mdb files can be large. The import will erase existing data so that's
probably not the problem.

Rob, thanks for the answer. I'm OK now, must have been my computer being
balky. I started over, and it came in OK. Gene

Great. I'm sure it was your computer. It could never be one of
ours. ;-)

Cheers,
