Monthly Contributions
Out of curiousity, what is the average monthly contribution
amount investment club partners pay each month. Do you
normally pay monthly? quarterly? or make annual
contributions?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Debi
Debi, our club, Southern Women Investing Money, has a minimum of $40, but
members are free to contribute more, and several do. Gene Rooks, Orlando
Hi Debbie,

Our club minimum is $30/month. Some pay $50. No one is allowed to own more
thasn 25% of the entire value of the club. When that happens, they simple
pay the minimum until we catch up to them. And we don't have any cash
accounts, either. It's just not necessary. Everyone pays in. If we buy
memberships, subscriptions, supplies, whatever, it's all part of doing
business. It comes off the top. The rest is invested. Much simpler for
the treasurer.

Debi,
Our club has a 1 year's dues buy-in ($600) and we pay $150
quarterly. That is easier than trying to collect $50 each
month since all of us are not at all of the meetings. I am
the treasurer and I am patient with the collections. Our
club has been around for 20 years.

Thank you to everyone for your input. Marcia, I would really
like to know more about the operations of your club, if you
don't mind.

You can email me at dthorne@bivio.com

Thanks again

Debi

Hi, I just got my first account synch summary, and am questioning why it
handles reinvested dividends in two steps, a cash dividend, and then a buy
of the fractional share, instead of the single reinvested dividend screen
when you manually enter it.

Thanks, Gene Rooks swim_orl

It's actually two transactions. The reinvest dividend screen is just
a user interface convenience for people who like entering their
transactions manually.

Marcia,

Thank you so much for your reply. I was wondering if I could ask you some more question about your investment club. Our club has been around for almost 6 years. Are you a founding member of your club?

Deborah, We just started a a club last year and we use
e-mail for all of our decision making becuase we are
scattered around the world. We opened a free business
account at Washington Mutual and use the account to direct
deposit monthly dues. We then electronically transfer it to
Scottrade each month. We did this to make transfers
seamless and reduce the number of "forgetting to send a
check" problems.

Just an idea.. Robert
