Strange e-mail received

Strange e-mail received I and another member of our club have received a few e-mails with our club's short name in the topic. I'm not yet sure if all members have received them, but this is more than a little disconcerting. I went ahead and opened one of them, but nothing was inside, making it all the more disconcerting. Our e-mail provider found no viruses associated with them. Neither of us recognized the sender address (ouzcmzb@yahoo.com) and have deleted all we have received. Any ideas as to the cause of this, and moreover, how to prevent? Thanks Ed Stewart writes: > received. Any ideas as to the cause of this, and moreover, > how to prevent? There is probably a virus on one of your club members' computers. You can set some preferences which will prevent this kind of thing: http://www.bivio.com/hp/club-configuration.html A club officer must set them. You probably want to turn off "Allow email from anybody". Note that if your broker is mailing your club address, it will bounce if you turn off this option. Rob |
