club accounting - Bivio vs. NOCA
Hello out there. What are the advantages of the Bivio
accounting program (which costs $99 a year over NOCA (NAIC
Oline club Accounting) which costs $49? ( Clearly, there
must be a reason why some clubs switch to Bivio.)
I believe you have your facts wrong. Without getting into the merits of
the two programs, bivio costs $69 a year, and that includes tax
preparation. NOCA costs $49, but without tax preparation. If you add tax
preparation to NOCA, it will cost an additional $59.

$49, actually.

You were looking at the page for the desktop tax printer. For info on the
NOCA tax printer, see:

To be clear, the price for NOCA is $98/year, and the equivalent bivio
service (Club Accounting) is $69/year. bivio's $99/year service is
called AccountSync, which gives you accounting, taxes, and automatic
updates from your brokerage account. This last feature is not
available with NOCA. AccountSync is an incredible service, because it
automates most of what you have to do by hand with NOCA for the
equivalent price.

One of the things you get with bivio is clarity. We list all the
prices on our home page (lower left corner). Off our home page, we
have a table which compares the services in detail:

http://www.bivio.com/hm/services.html

At bivio, we try to be as clear and upfront with our customers as
possible. We let you try our accounting service free for three
months. We provide a public email address (support@bivio.com) to ask
questions--whether you are a customer or not--and you can phone us at
+1 866.248.7571.

We also believe in open standards. Your bivio accounting data is
available to you in XML, an industry standard for data exchange. NOCA
encrypts your accounting data to make it difficult for you to switch
to bivio.

Yet another example of our commitment to our customers is that we meet
the Better Business Bureau's membership standards, and proudly display
the BBBOnLine seal on every page.

You might also want to check out what leading magazines say about bivio:

Best of all, bivio's award winning quality and service is 30% cheaper
than NOCA!

I really appreciate all the help you guys are giving me.
It's helping me make up my mind. I will present all this
material to my club in two weeks and I'm pretty sure we'll
vote to go with Bivio. Now, if someone would only answer my
prior question about transitioning from equal shares to unit
shares....

Our club has had bivio for two years at least and we love
it. I must add that it is probably accountsync that we most
love. I just handed off to a new treasurer who was most
apprehensive, but she says she does most of the monthly
accounting in less than an hour. I don't know anything
about NOCA.
