Can anyone direct me to the vital statistics on the sale P&G
made to Smuckers of their interests in JIF and Crisco? We
ended up with 1+ shares of Smuckers, and the same number of
P&G shares. Was this a spinoff? I need the figures and
can't seem to find anything on either company's site. Anyone
have records you would be willing to share on this
transaction?

Carol,

The reason you can't find much on this transaction is that it happened
in 2002. Yes it was a spinoff. Like you, I can find no documentation as
to what the remaining basis percentage was. bivio will compute that for
you, though. The transaction called for P&G stockholders to receive 1
share of Smuckers for every 50 shares of P&G held.
