withdrawals
I don't know how to do it.

I got a $1167.01 check for a member who needed emergency. I
sold stock from Buy and Hold, and they sent me a check.

I can't figure out a way to transfer the check from Buy and
Hold to our account. I can't pay the member until I deposit
the check into the Rapid Stag investment account, then
withdraw the cash for the member. How are other people
doing this?

Neither Scottrade nor Buy and Hold will make a check out to
a member directly, but there is no "transfer" option on
member withdrawals. Help!

Let me walk through this and associate the transactions accordingly.

1. You sell stock to cover a withdrawal. This sale is entered
using the Accounting > Investements > Sold button. Use BUYandHOLD
as the account to deposit the funds into.

2. BUYandHOLD issues a check to Rapid Stag investment club.

    a. If you have a bank account, then deposit this into the account using
the Accounting > Accounts > Transfer button. Use BUYandHOLD as
the source account and your bank as the destination. Use
the bank for the account in step 3.

    b. You don't have a bank account. Sign the check over to the
member, and proceed to step 3, using BUYandHOLD as the account.

3. Enter the withdrawal for the member. Go to Accounting > Members >
Withdraw button. Use the account determined by step 2. Enter the
valuation date, click refresh. Subtract the cash paid to the
member from the member's value as shown after the refresh. Enter
the difference as a fee. If the fee is negative, enter it anyway.

If you mail support@bivio.com, we'll give you links directly to your
club's pages. This often is the easiest way to solve this problem.
