Resetting Unit Values
Does anyone know how to reset the unit value of a club? We
are just starting up and posting contributions (no
investments as of yet) and payments among members have not
been consistent and the unit values are all over the place.
We would like to start fresh with all members equal.
Cynthia, they don't have to be equal. What does your bylaws state?
Our bylaws say that a member of our club can not own more than 25% of the
assets. The minimum monthly deposit should be $30 with no limits, as long
as it doesn't surpass the 25% ownership. Now, we have a $20 penalty fee for
"no shows" to our monthly meeting, in addition we also imposed a penalty of
$5 for using proxies after missing 3 meeting in a year. Also, the last to
arrive at the meeting must bring a snack for the next meeting. See, it gets
complicated and will be nearly imposible to keed the units of all members
equal. That is why Bivio is such a great tool for an investment Club, it
keeps track of the units, and it is a breeze to do taxes at the end of the
year.

I can't comment specifically on your account for privacy reasons.
However, as I Ira pointed out, expenses affect the unit value. For a
