club_cafe: K-mart stock
The symbol for bankrupt Kmart is KMRTQ.PK and last traded for .007. They
have filed a plan and it has been approved by the bankruptcy court. I
believe Kmart will emerge from Chapter #11 in early May.
I would attempt to trade out of your position and then take a 100% loss for
your 2003 tax return.
Once the company emerges your current shares will no longer trade anywhere
and they will be completely worthless.

we are unsure if our kmart stock is still able to be redeemed.
Since they went into bankruptcy, even the symbol is different.
After a bankruptcy, does that mean we no longer own any kmart stock? ie all
is lost?
this may sound stupid but what do you mean when you say
"trade out of your position"?
