I'm not sure that I understand your problem. When I run a balance sheet for 12/31/02, I get exactly what I should. Balance sheets are typically prepared on a "historical cost" basis. If you are looking for a report that shows what each investment was worth on 12/31/02, you need to run a valuation report (as of 12/31/02).
