Can the bivio messages be configured to NOT automatically reply to ALL!?
This is such a silly question but it's been a problem
already. When someone uses Bivio messaging it sends to the
entire group. That's okay, except the message APPEARS to
come from that individual. When you hit reply, it responds
to ALL in the group again. Is there a way to configure the
messaging so this doesn't happen? It's hard to know because
I get both personal and Bivio messages from people that are
labelled "John Smith".
No, I'm not talking about the cafe. I'm talking about the
Communications-Mail function within my groups Bivio pages.
(My Bivio mail forwards to my normal email account.) Yes
when I hit reply the "TO" line says it will be sent to the
"<Groupname>_Investment_Club" The problem is that members
don't pay attention to that. When it says it's from John
Smith, when you hit reply, you expect it to send only to
John Smith, not the entire group.

Yes, go to Administration > Tools > Edit Club Configuration,
uncheck the "Set reply to for club mail", and click OK.

 Wayne,

As a member of the I-Club-List at NAIC, I know how embarrassing it can be to
reply to the entire list a message that was meant to be personal. To
alleviate your concern, you can simply sign off as a member of Bivio Cafe
and visit the board on the homepage, instead. That would solve your problem.

For me, the "Re: club_cafe:" in the subject line tells me the message is
"public", so I don't make the mistake of answering it with a personal
message. Each to their own, I guess.

Yes Wayne, I understand. We've had some mistakes made because of that. When
my members send a note to our club's messageboard, it broadcasts it to
everyone. But here again, the subject line begins with the club's User ID.
I think you would prefer that the "from" line shows Bivio, rather than the
original sender. But I doubt you will get them to change that. Better to
pay attention to the subject line, or simply create a new message whenever
you get a message from a club member.
