Are you asking about your club or your individual return?

If your club, you must file if there is ANY income or
expense. If your individual return, there are minimum income
levels based on filing status. Check out the instructions
for any of the primary tax forms 1040, 1041A, or 1040EZ. For
either type of return, capital gains and losses are just one
type of income, they do not have any special influence on
the need to file.
