Short sells
Please forgive the ignorance of a novice investor,
investment club member and investment club treasurer (sounds
like a recipe for disaster, doesn't it), but is there no way
to record and report short sells using bivio online
accounting? We do have some very knowledgeable members and
expect to do some quick-strike transactions, including short
sells.

I'm sorry, but we don't support short sales at this time. We're
looking into adding this feature.

Cheers,

bivio Inc.
I don't know whether bivio can or cannot handle short sales,
but I would check your partnership agreement and see if it
allows short selling. The standard NAIC agreement doesn't
allow any borrowing. You can't short sell without credit.
You also run significant partnership risks if you allow
someone to take on obligations in the name of the
partnership.
