Filing Taxes
Approximately how long should members of the club wait to
file their personal taxes after the club has sent in all the
tax forms to the IRS. Is there a certain amount of time
that is needed for the IRS to process the club taxes before
club members can file their personal taxes?
No need to wait at all. The IRS doesn't cross reference
anything for months. On the first pass, the numbers are
entered and the math checked. If the math is ok, the IRS
accepts your return as filed and issues a refund or deposits
your check. Much later your return is cross checked against
all of the reports (W-2, 1099s, etc.,) for errors and/or
selected for further review ("audit").
