TAXES
We started our club Jan 2001. We sold only one stock this
year.
Most members feel its a good idea to pay a CPA to do the
taxes the first time. I don't like the idea of paying
someone $250 for filling out a couple of forms but the idea
of not being sure about doesn't appeal to me either.
Does the BIVIO "tax season" provide the information and
forms needed to prepare forms required of a small club?

Our Tax Season subscription provides the required forms for federal
taxes. This is also included in the Club Accounting subscription. One
way to test drive our tax forms is to try it out in your private demo
club. First, log in to bivio, then go to the following page:

 https://www.bivio.com/demo

This creates a private demo club which allows you to experiment with
the different features in bivio's accounting service. From there
select the Accounting section and then the Taxes subsection. We expect
to have the 2001 forms available on Monday morning.

Keith,

What Paul didn't say was that bivio does not provide state
tax filings. Not to pick on him or bivio, no online service
does. You will need to check with each of the states that
your partners live in to determine if you have to file a
return for that state as well.

If you post the states here, perhaps someone knows the
answers already.

Ooops. Paul did say that bivio provides federal forms only.

My comments about checking with the necessary states still
stands.

Just wondering if bivio has any interest in exporting data
in the
appropriate format described here
  http://www.taxsoftware.com/btax2001/linecodes.html
so I could upload the data and electronically file my club
tax return
using this site
  http://www.taxsoftware.com/

We're discussing it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
