stock gains incuding dividends On the valuation page, does the unrealized gain/loss include dividends paid? I do not think that it does but I could be wrong. If it does not how could I show that. We have a stock that pays dividends and I would like to show that in the unrealized gain. Thanks, Lucile Sorrells Dividends are "realized" you can see them on your P&L. Unrealized gains are the increase in estimated value based on current market prices. The valuation report does not include dividends. Running the Investment Performance report for the time period in question will include the impact of dividends received (as well as any buy/sell activity occurring in the middle of that period) in the Annualized Internal Rate of Return. -----Original Message----- From: club_cafe@bivio.com <club_cafe@bivio.com> On Behalf Of Lucile Sorrells via bivio.com Sent: Thursday, December 12, 2024 11:50 AM To: club_cafe@bivio.com Subject: [club_cafe] stock gains incuding dividends [External Email] On the valuation page, does the unrealized gain/loss include dividends paid? Thanks, Lucile Sorrells thanks, George, that is what I was looking for The valuation report does not include dividends. Lucille, the dividends and interest your club earns is not the same as Unrealized Gains/Loss. They show up separately on your Form 1099 from your broker after the close of the calendar year because they are earned income and therefore taxable. So far, the Unrealized Gains/Loss are not taxable income. Our broker Schwab shows the YTD dividends and interest on their monthly statement. Realized gains or losses from the actual sale of stock will also show on your form 1099. Steve Foster Circle of Friends
