NJ Partnership Return

NJ Partnership Return I am still having difficulty filing electronically with the state of NJ. I have tried every permutation of operating system (PC, MAC) and browser (Safari, Edge, Chrome) available to me. I can not get Ty Hughes workaround to work for me and my prior workaround that I have used for the last few years using the website www.ieonchrome.com is also not working. Has anyone come up with any other solutions? Has anyone tried using other tax reporting software to file with NJ? I looked into TaxAct last night, but I am not sure that I really want to head in this direction. Has anyone used an accountant to file with NJ for them? My accountant uses Thomson Reuters for his platform and says he has no issues filing with NJ. I am trying to get him to give me a quote to file. Any ideas would be appreciated. Paul Savarese After many many attempts as you can see from the messages below the seem to be unsurmountable issues in filing partnership returns on the NJ filing sites. I have the same issue. Today I have gone as far as I have ever before. After following all the links using MSEdge starting from NJ.gov, thru treasury, to partnership filing , reaching premier services, as far as to the next to last webpage showing our partnership name and Tax ID, when finally hit "file" the system returned me to an earlier screen with the message I've exceed my attempted log-ins. This is absolutely wrong as I only had a single opportunity to enter my correct password. I will copy and paste these messages to service@brvio.com, and NJ help site maybe they can help. -----Original Message----- From: Sent: Wednesday, March 20, 2024 11:09 AM To: club_cafe@bivio.com Subject: [club_cafe] NJ Partnership Return I am still having difficulty filing electronically with the state of NJ. Paul Savarese I have established contact with my liaison at NJ Division of Taxation. At this point, I am summarizing all the information I've received from you (here and through Support) for their use. One of the first issues for them to resolve is how everyone can get their returns successfully filed. I don't know what their solution will be, but we have until April 15, so sit tight. Please do not try to communicate directly with the NJ Division of Taxation. The general support staff don't have any additional information and can't solve the problem. Ira Smilovitz After many many attempts as you can see from the messages below the seem to It looks like there may finally be some movement on this issue. There is now the following message under the File NJ-1065 Annual Return and Payment check box on the second screen: "The 2023 NJ-1065 Annual Return is currently under development and will be available in the near future." What does that mean? We need to wait for them to fix it before filing 2024 partnerships return.

I figured out a way last year, but not yet this year. The main problem being that Java is not supported (due to security concerns) in modern web browsers. Each year it is less likely to work unless NJ reprograms their Java-based forms in another language. I am planning to file a paper copy of the NJ return next week. I have a screen print with the message stating that "The 2023 NJ-1065 Annual Return is currently under development and will be available in the near future." My plan is write a cover letter with the return and include the screen print with the error message justifying why I can not submit the return electronically. I will wait until next Wednesday (4/10) or Thursday (4/11) before sending in the paper copy in order to give them as much time as possible to make the fix. Does anyone have any other ideas? Ira - Have you received any status on where they are with a fix? I filed for an extension last night for this same reason. It's my understanding that paper filing is not allowed. Filing for an extension was a fairly simple process online I am planning to file a paper copy of the NJ return next |
