Understand TDA just gave us our 1099B at the end of February 29 so we aren't putting this off to the last moment. But would like to get the corrections made before March 15.
Just a hint--even though you want to get your return done before 03/15, file a request for an extension now just in case. Takes a lot of pressure off the person responsible for filing the return.

When does the file for extension need to be made? Also, can you file electronically then?
Thanks,

I would say that Bivio could still electronically file the return, but best that Bivio confirm that. And I misread your earlier question--you can file the request for an extension anytime before 03/15. Just be sure to send it certified so that you can track it and have evidence of timely filing.

Hi everyone,
All clubs who haven't filed should consider filing an extension request now with the IRS. It gives your club until September 15 to e-file or mail your club's 1065 return. You might still file your club's return before March 15 or soon after, and your club members will likely have their tax documents in time to prepare their own returns by the April 15 deadline. If members are able to file before April 15 then they will have no need to file personal extensions just because your club did. The extension has the added benefit of making the return easier to amend if your club should need to. You need to mail the extension request to the IRS by March 15. Here are the extension instructions and form:

But how would you attach a physical extension form to an electronically filed return, or maybe there's a box to check to indicate the return is on extension? So, they could include the form 7004 with the return.

Form 7004 is not filed with or attached to the return, it is filed separately. Either can be filed electronically or on paper and you don't have to use the same method for both. The IRS computers link everything via the EIN.

I realize the form 7004 is filed by 3/15. As an "old school CPA" we've always attached another Copy of the extension when the 1065 was filed. The IRS tends to lose things. As long as you have proof of mailing on 3/15, I guess it should be okay.

Now for the LTG of AL
TDA shows on 12/04/23 we sold 194.156 for proceeds of $7,676.84 at a cost basis of $7,538.09 Showing a LTG of $138.75 Total
Bivio shows a for AL we sold 194.156 for proceeds of $7,676.84 but at a cost basis of $7,676.83 Showing a LTG of $196.27
I have made all the necessary changes on Bivio reflecting the Qualified and Nonqualified dividends. I would appreciate some help with this from Bivio or someone who can direct me on how to correct all of this mess.
Understand TDA just gave us our 1099B at the end of February 29 so we aren't putting this off to the last moment. But would like to get the corrections made before March 15.

Nowadays, if you set up an IRS e-services account, you can see if the extension has been recorded on the account.
I realize the form 7004 is filed by 3/15. As an "old school CPA" we've always attached another Copy of the extension when the 1065 was filed. The IRS tends to lose things. As long as you have proof of mailing on 3/15, I guess it should be okay.
Form 7004 is not filed with or attached to the return, it is filed separately. Either can be filed electronically or on paper and you don't have to use the same method for both. The IRS computers link everything via the EIN.
But how would you attach a physical extension form to an electronically filed return, or maybe there's a box to check to indicate the return is on extension? So, they could include the form 7004 with the return.
The extension form is available from the IRS website. I do not know about filing the extension request electronically, but it certainly would not prevent your filing club tax forms electronically when they are done.
Just a hint--even though you want to get your return done before 03/15, file a request for an extension now just in case. Takes a lot of pressure off the person responsible for filing the return.
Bivio did not pick up a purchase of of 1 share of AL on 10/06/2023 @ $33.9419 price
We sold all of AL on 12/04/2023
Bivio shows we sold 194.156 shares of AL on 12/04/2023
TDA shows on 12/4/2023 sales of 195 shares of AL @ $39.54 and .156 shares @39.54
I am unable to add the one share we purchased on 10/06/2023 on Bivio thus our STG on Bivio does not reflect the 1 share bought on 10/26 when we sold all of it on 12/04
