New ways to research for new investments
We use BetterInvesting, Stock Central/Roster of Quality, Bivio, and various others.
We are looking for some new direction and ideas for research for new investments.
I use Manifest Investing as a way to screen stocks and to show me potential triple plays with a few clicks

I also use SSG Plus to screen stocks.  Also the stock comparison guide is excellent to compare companies.

I like them both

We are subscribers to Investors Business Daily and read their issues online. They have lists of growth stocks and solid articles on market conditions and standout companies. Some of our biggest winners are from IBD.

Pauline,

Does your club have an Investment Policy Statement (IPS)? That can help guide you. Are you looking for rapid quick gains? Are you focusing on 3 to 4 years out? Do you use only fundamental analysis? Or do you incorporate technical analysis in stock investing? If you do a blend of the two disciplines then when do you apply one criteria over another? Do you include REITS and MLPs in your investing?

Do you have buy and sell criteria?

As the Cheshire Cat said to Alice "If you don't know where you want to go then it doesn't matter which path you take."

I could point to a myriad of locations and places for "good investment" ideas but you have to know what you are trying to accomplish first.

Pauline,

One of our favorite methods to search for new opportunities is to look over the shoulders of stockpickers with a demonstrated track record of "pursuing" the same types of stocks that generally capture our attention. Two examples are (1) tracking the new and accumulated holdings of Brown Capital Small Company (BCSIX) and (2) investors like Eddy Elfenbein (www.crossingwallstreet.com)

During this week's Bull Session (our weekly workshop/webcast, Tuesdays at 2 PM) we delved into another: Polen US Small Company Growth after a recent feature in Barron's brought it to our attention.

The broadcast is archived on YouTube at https://youtu.be/SbAdCDqfHfY -- the segment on the small company growth fund starts at approximately 36:00. I'm sure that anybody who attended added one or two new companies to their watch list for further study and consideration.

Feel free to peruse archived Bull Sessions and Round Tables on YouTube (our monthly confab of 3-5 investors sharing a discovery, company of interest and sharing analysis & perspectives of same). FWIW, the annualized rate of return of the stocks featured during the monthly Round Tables since 2010 stands at 15.3% -- beating the Wilshire 5000 by +5.4 percentage points.

The Bull Sessions and Round Tables are FREE and future sessions can be accessed via https://www.manifestinvesting.com/events

Let me know if you have any questions or would like to explore a test drive at www.manifestinvesting.com ... the citizens of bivio Nation have a special place in our hearts.
