Air Lease Dividends re-classified from 'Ordinary Dividends' to 'Non-dividend Distribution.' Does anyone know if there is a dollar amount limit that would eliminate a need to refile.? Wondering the same thing. Just got our corrected 1099 tonite. Let me re-phrase the question. After some research, it appears that the proper procedure is to re-categorize the qualified dividend to non-qualified in the accounting program. I did that and the amount went negative in the ledger. Research also led me to believe we must adjust the cost basis to account for the income. Is that correct? If so, here is my question: Will adjusting the cost basis relieve the negative amount in the ledger to zero? Or is there a procedure you can advise? AND, Bivio is doing an amazing job responding to our questions, but they are not our tax advisor, or at least we do not pay them to be such. Peter Dunkelberger Wondering the same thing.
