Stuart, How far did you get in the process and what was the issue when you couldn't go further? For example, did you get a message about javascript?. Did you get a blank screen? Was there an error message of some sort? Let me know in as much detail as possible as I am trying to get some action between the NJ Division of Taxation and the Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services (who maintains the web application) to remedy the issue. Thanks. Ira Smilovitz
Microsoft has changed Internet Explorer Compatibility Mode so often in the last year, that it's difficult to rely on information found on the web. In most cases, you can try this: - Start Microsoft Edge, click on the three dots in the upper right, hover over Help and Feedback, click on About Microsoft Edge. This will update Microsoft Edge to the latest version. - In Microsoft Edge, click on the three dots in the upper right, click on settings - Click on Default Browser - Change this setting: Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer Mode to Allow - Click Add and add all variations of the website www.state.nj.us When accessing the website, if you are prompted to allow Internet Explorer Mode, click Yes. curious since we are not able to e file the federal return yet; you can still e file your state return? Thanks Dan Cohn
Dan Cohn 404 862 5640 Dan, NJ efiling is done through a website application at NJ.GOV. It requires transcribing the information from the bivio generated NJ-1065 onto web forms that replicate the printed pages. Ira Smilovitz
I have been able to file with the State of New Jersey this morning. I am a MAC user. My OS is macOS Monterey Version 12.2.1 and I am on Version 15.3 of Safari. I used the following approach to simulate Internet Explorer for a MAC. I am not sure if this approach will work with any other configurations. Use the site www.ieonchrome.com and select IE9 in the selection box. You also need to enter the URL for filing the NJ partnership return and this will take you to New Jersey's site to file. You just need to then follow all of the instructions that we have been provided. Good luck.
Will try that after work in Sierra. Nice workaround. Stu in Jersey
It worked in Sierra too. Thanks for the tip. It took me over the 30 free minutes that the site allows you to use legacy IE versions for free, so I paid the $4.99 for the monthly subscription to finish up. Add that NJ E-filing tax form to another reason that I can't wait to move out of NJ. What an archaic POS. I had to enter all of the information (including all of the 10 members K1 info) three times before I managed to do it without the JAVA crashing. For the state with the highest taxes in the country, we have the lowest ranked transit in the country, a quarter of a trillion dollar unfunded liability in the pension/benefits system, a governor who raised the state budget from 35 to 50 billion in three years and everything the government runs in NJ is either broke or broken. If it weren't for the pizza and bagels, I woulda been outta here decades ago. Thanks again Paul Savarese. Again, excellent workaround. Ira. Good luck with the state upgrading their form to work without JAVA. The private sector has pretty much rejected JAVA due to all of its inherent security risks. I wasn't going to wait around for NJ to fix it. I live here. I guarantee they do nothing to fix it and will fine all of the small businesses in NJ who don't file on time regardless. Bivio may want to consider updating their directions for NJ clubs to electronically file using Paul's workaround.
