Mailing tax form
Hi,

A couple of questions:

1. For CA filing, at the beginning of the form it says there needs to be an e-filing waiver. Has this been done by Bivio, or do I do that? Do I need to include this page in the mailing?

2. Do I mail all pages to the State of CA, or just the pages through the last K-1 (there are 2 detail pages about schedule K after that related to business expenses and distributions

3. For Federal filing, same question as the previous question, do I mail all pages to the Feds or just through the last K-1.

Thanks so much.

Ira,
Do you think realistically that we are going to be able to e-file our taxes by March 15 or should we go ahead and mail them?

Yes, I do. Once it is available, it will only take a few minutes to submit the return. Acknowledgement from the IRS typically takes less than 24 hours.

My suggestion to those awaiting IRS efiling authorization to Bivio: file an extension of time to file. You should still print out a copy of the return (or download it, depending on how you retain a copy), give the partners their k1s (&k2s and k3s, if necessary) and wait to file electronically at your leisure, as long as you don't wait past the last due date of September 15. That way you save packaging and mailing of the hard copy 1065.

Do not forget to get proof of timely mailing for the extension.
