The issue is not IClub practices, but why Bivio did not. Clearly Bivio members are impacted. Bivio should have a recovery plan with a recovery date rather than leaving members in the dark.

We cannot comment on what IClub has or hasn't done. We do not use them as an authoritative source for how club taxes should be prepared.
It is a frustrating issue this year for any partnership filing taxes. Investment club members are only a small percentage of people who are very frustrated with the situation at this point.
We are obligated to make a best effort to get you what we have determined that you need and that is what we are doing. It is taking longer than usual because new information continues to come out.
The fact that we have recommended that you file for an extension this year, is not because we do not think we will have the tax program out in time for you to file by March 15, but because there are ongoing changes coming from the IRS related to the new forms.
If any come out after March 15 that would mean you'd need to amend your initial filings, it will be far easier to do if you've filed for an extension than if you haven't.

Bob,
I hear you, but clearly Bivio dropped the ball if IClub got their's done and Bivio did not. The worst part of this story is we are all sitting with a last update of 2/16/22. As a professional organization, Bivio should be keeping the customer informed with dated recovery dates. I would very much appreciate a recovery plan!

Thank you bivio support for all you are doing for this situation. You are keeping us well informed of the situation and I trust your decisions. I filed the extension and waiting for the next phase!

Can you just answer this question directly.
When do you think Bivio will have the forms available?
Your answer may be you don't know, and that's fine we just need an answer so we can decide if we want to wait longer, use an accountant, or switch to iClub which seems to be ready.
We get the situation, we get there may be changes in the future. You kinda hint below you think it may be ready by March 15th, but we need a direct answer and not hints.

Don't worry John, I have gone back to IClub with the feedback provided on the Bivio site. We ALL need to get this right. I am a firm believer in right the first time.
BUT, Bivio members are still sitting 2 weeks after the last update from Bivio on this issue. Bivio indicated the forms would be available the end of February. Today is March 1. We have no forms. We have no next steps. We have no target date for recovery.

Here is IClubs response to whether the K1s will have to be modified in the future:
No, users of myICLUB.com are fine and the IRS has not changed its forms at all -- they have only suggested that some circumstances MIGHT exist in which a partnership MIGHT not have to generate those schedules. But we are generating the K-2 and K-3 for all clubs. From our perspective, if the IRS does change its guidance again, we have already gone above and beyond it, so all of our clubs will NOT be affected. Because we offer e-Filing, it's no additional work for the treasurer to generate and include those schedules with an e-Filed return.
If you don't use myICLUB have have to submit your IRS return on paper, I could see how a treasurer might not be happy about printing a 400-page federal return. But that's not the case with myICLUB.com.
