We have a member that is going to file his taxes without the
K1,2 or 3. His total income from dividends is $2.12...

The issue is not only whether your club itself has any foreign investments, but also whether anyone in your club has any foreign reporting they need to do. The IRS says you need to file the forms unless you are certain they do not.
Since we do not feel that clubs may be in a position to effectively evaluate this, our current recommendation is that all clubs file the new tax forms and distribute them to members.

Two of our members occupation is farming. Their taxes need to be done by March 1st. I gave them the amounts from members income expense report. I doubt they would file an extension to wait for a K1 with less than 50 dollars in it.
This k-2, k-3 report sounds awful. It is terrible to add this in the beginning of a year.

We have 6 members who are farmers and I have this same issue. If we do not have any foreign income from ETFs will we even have to file the K2K3? These questions have just come up, and I have been reading everything and understand where bivio is coming from and big government just does not give a darn about the small guy. Farmers taxes are a different ballgame so I am just asking.

If you look under reports there is a reports called Members Tax Allocations. Those are the amounts that will go to the K-1. Why can't the members just use those numbers to file their personal tax returns. Especially if there is not foreign
income.

The problem is that the club can't know if the members have circumstances in their personal tax situation that require them to file for a foreign tax credit. If they do, they need the information from Schedule K-3.
