bivio time out

Would it be possible for Bivio to provide an automatic logout after a period of time when no activity is taking place. Maybe after five minutes of inactivity, Bivio would logout automatically as a protective security measure. I'd suggest not that quickly. Five minutes is too short. That could be very annoying. At least 30, and I'd prefer longer than that. I don't know what security we're seriously worried about. It's not a brokerage account. At our club meetings, we generally have Bivio open for most of the meeting and having to log in every five minutes would defeat the purpose of making our records visible to our partners as we switch between reports, etc. Also, when members are loading copies of their reports, minutes, or whatever ... I know for me there are times when it takes longer than 5-10 or even 30 minutes to load up or refer back to my project. Only the club's Administrators/Treasurer have the ability to make any changes to any actual accounting record. I find auto time outs really annoying with other online applications. If Bivio did it, I would want more than five minutes. If one is preparing a report for the membership or trying to find a broker statement while having logged in to Bivio, or the phone rings, there can be a delay in accessing the site. Make it 10 or 15 minutes. One thing I would like that more modern websites have is that closing the website automatically logs one out. Then one does not have the two step process of logging out and then closing the website tab. Well, the K-1s are available on the site, so I presume if a hacker is smart enough, they can be accessed, and the K-1s have members' SSNs and addresses. But I do agree that 5 minutes is too little time. It is interesting that your club has Bivio open for the meeting. Do you have a web "meeting" service or does each member open the application separately? Actually like Peter's suggestion. As an administrator, I don't particularly like one having access to information such as members personal wealth in the account, as well as private information if one accidentally forgot to logout. Then you could individually set the timeout (or none at all) that worked for you. Later, jhon On Wed, Mar 14, 2018 at 3:30 PM, dabay3 via bivio.com <user*25597600001@bivio.com> wrote:
Peter - We do have web meeting services as a Chapter Model Club. Even before we became a model club we used a projector at our meetings and the presenter (usually the President or Treasurer) would open and project reports from Bivio, as well as change over to BI site, Value Lines, Morningstar, or where ever. Usually, most people do bring their laptops to the meeting and often before buying a stock we end up doing a group study verifying and digging deeper into the stock before reaching a decision to buy or watch. I agree with the idea of auto logout upon web browser closure, and would be ok with a configure feature available for adjustment. This might be a coding nightmare though, and if so, it's not that important. Laura

We have several programs open for the duration of the meeting (About an hour and a half.) Sometimes one or two members will bring their laptops too, but it isn't necessary for an effective meeting. Before the meeting begins -- while everyone else is enjoying appetizers and wine -- I'm opening up: Betterinvestsing.org, Bivio.com, ManifestInvesting.com, I used to also open Toolkit, but we're all using the Online Tools now, so I don't bother with that. Peter - Here is the contact and registration information for the Inland Empire Chapter's Model Club meeting. We are in the Pacific Northwest time zone, so take that into consideration. We meet every fourth Monday. April date is going to be adjusted as we will be doing a demonstration of our Club Meeting for Money Smart Week. Our meeting resources sound quite a bit like Linda's investment club, sans the Wine and Food .... although that sounds really good to me. Inland Empire Model Club ACM Model Club meets the fourth Monday of every month
