Our programmers have just added a nice update to a very important bivio report. You can now see cost basis per share as well as total cost basis for each lot of any stocks you own on the:
You might find this useful if you are thinking of doing some tax lot harvesting.
Don't forget, if you want your broker to select specific lots to sell, make sure you tell them prior to the sale. You can't change the lot selection afterward. Your capital gains and losses will be calculated separately for each lot sold.
Also, don't forget that if you tell them to use something other than FIFO (First In First Out), you'll need to edit the bivio sale entry and adjust the lot selection to whatever they used. Here's how:
Thanks so much! I often find a few cents difference in cost basis between bivio and broker (Scottrade). I have attributed that to rounding error and haven't paid much attention to it.
