How To Keep Interest In Your Investment Club Alive
We found we were spending too much time reviewing our existing stocks (that we were not proposing to buy more of or sell) and not allowing enough time for the important issues like sells and buys. So now we email our existing stock updates and spend our time together each month talking about the existing stocks we want to sell or buy more of and any new buys. Everyone is prepared with SSGs and VL reports on these stocks and we have good discussions. We also have an annual review of each stock scheduled throughout the year. Education has always been 'the answer' but I'm going to suggest that I see my club discussions become more lively when they discuss a new company. We often (usually) don't buy them. But, learning what they do can be very interesting. Not to mention that learning whether or not they make money doing what they do is interesting. |
