Laurie--The ACWIC is considering purchasing CaesarStone Sdot-YAM (CSTE). Will BIVIO be able to tract and report these transactions or is this a stock we should stay away from? Let's get out of the house! Ruthy Sellers On Tuesday, March 22, 2016 12:32 PM, Laurie Frederiksen <laurie@bivio.biz> wrote:
Hi, Caesarstone (CSTE) is an Israeli company which has shares which trade on a US Exchange. In general, stocks like these can be handled in your bivio accounting and tax reporting. The only time there may be problems is if the stocks go through some sort of reorganization or make some sort of unusual distribution. When that happens, information from the company can be confusing and difficult to interpret as they sometimes don't provide all that is needed to determine how whatever they have done impacts US taxes. This may mean delays or inaccuracies in your accounting until appropriate handling of these issues can be determined. As long as that is something your investment club understands going into the investment, you won't have any surprises if it does happen.
