I belong to a club that shares in several Vanguard Mutual
Funds. Each month, I record the dividends received in
various accounts as ordinary dividends. Vanguard just sent
me the 2015 Form 1099-Div that provides the total dividend
distribution (ordinary and qualified) for each Mutual Fund.
I am wondering if it possible (for tax purpose) to record in
bivio the total amount of dividends (ordinary and qualified)
without editing individual dividend transactions (at least
80) I recorded in 2015.
Thank in advance for your assistance.
Cheers,
Jules

Hi Jules,
You can easily edit each dividend from the 1099-DIV review page which you get to in step 2 of the tax preparation process. Here is how to do it:
You need to make the changes for each dividend separately so that the appropriate tax information will be allocated to the appropriate members on your tax forms.

Laurie,
Thank you for your response.
I am aware of the reference you pointed me to. Since I do
not have from Vanguard, information (from Form 1099-DIV) on
each dividend transaction, I cannot do it. I only have the
total of the individual dividend transactions for each
Mutual Fund account. I was just wondering if bivio has a
mechanism to deal with the total instead of editing each
transaction. If not, I will then have to contact Vanguard to
request more information.
Thank you.

Unfortunately, because of the way your accounting works, you need to make the adjustments by dividend received, not as one entry.
If you cannot get the breakdown by dividend from your broker, the information is usually available on the investment website.
